Columbus County Weather Update – Tuesday 1/13/2026

Welcome to the Columbus County Weather Update for Tuesday January 13, 2026!

Yesterday was ccccold across the area. Today and Wednesday will feature warmer temps, but the bottom just absolutely drops off for Thursday afternoon through Friday.

Let’s get into it.

Today will feature an abundance of bright, blue sunny skies. Highs will cruise into the upper 50s inland, perhaps around 60.

Clouds will be on the increase tonight, and our lows early Wednesday will run a good 10 degrees warmer than what we have this morning.

Wednesday won’t be a horrible day by any means. Scattered clouds, mild temps, breezy conditions, and perhaps some spotty light rain later in the afternoon or in the evening as a cold front blows across the area. Highs will be around the 60-degree mark again.

Breezy to windy conditions start to develop late Wednesday night with partly cloudy skies. The blustery conditions continue on Thursday as an upper low pulls away. Whereas yesterday I thought maybe perhaps there could be the chance for a few snow showers on Thursday, that chance is now pretty much gone as dry air will win the battle.

Did I mention the cold? Yeah. Temps will be falling during the day Thursday… and keep going down-down-down to the upper teens by time you wake up Friday morning. Wind chill values (what it feels like) will dip to as low as 10 above zero.

BUS STOP TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY TO BE BETWEEN 18-22 DEGREES FRIDAY MORNING.

Despite full sunshine on Friday, we’ll be lucky to reach the mid 40s.  Brrr.

Then we warm up back to seasonal normal values on Saturday ahead of the next frontal system. This front is likely to move through on Sunday… and some of the modeling suggests a low could spin up on that front. Some of both the European and GFS ensembles hint at the potential for something interesting along the 18th-19th……..
